One of the most famous battles of the Napoleon War was fought on its surrounding fields. The Palace of Auerstedt was used as the headquarter for the Prussian-Saxon army in 1806. The unique "living" architectural monument "Auerworld Palace", made of willow rods has been open to visitors since Easter 1998. The use of the Auerworld Palace for regular full-moon festivals is a true enrichment to the cultural provision of our region.
