Thuringia barrier-free - holidays for the disabled
Holiday time is the best time of the year for the disabled too and Thuringia has a lot to offer for them - cherry blossom in the Japanese Garden in Bad Langensalza, the great little world of the model railway in Wiehe, the Garden of Fragrance and Touch in Fürstenhagen. All these attractions and lots more can be discovered and explored by the disabled on holiday.

Thuringia's state capital is not a member of the Workgroup for Barrier-Free Destinations in Germany for nothing. People with disabilities can spend a carefree holiday here. Erfurt offers a wealth of tourist attractions which you can reach, experience and enjoy with next-to-no problems.

After being damaged by fire and elaborately reconstructed, the library with its famous Rococo Room was reopened in 2007. During reconstruction, barrier-free accessibility of the study centre and historic library was a special focus. With the help of guide maps and induction loops, people with impairments of the senses can experience this UNESCO World Heritage building and its extensive displays.
