Th Friederiken Palace was built by the widowed Duchess Friederike of Saxony-Weissenfels between 1749-1751 as a summer residence and still offers in its way the same gentle charm as possibly its former owner, who came to Langensalza in a tragic way. After elaborate restoration, it today serves as a Visitor Information Centre with a hall, room with open fire and a vaulted cellar. Although concerts, cabaret, seminars and slide shows are held here, these historic premises are primarily used for weddings. The orangery situated in the historic park is available for readings and the former coach house today houses an historic printing press. In the pump room, the healing sulphuric water bubbles out of the ground - or from the realm of the dwarves, according to the legend of the discovery of the sulphur springs....
