Friedrich Schiller – a journey back in time to the era of Classicism
As a young man, Schiller fled from his garrison in December 1782 and came to Thuringia for the first time. For six months, he worked as a librarian in Meiningen before returning to Mannheim. Another 6 years were to pass before he finally moved to Jena and then Weimar. Many of the places where he lived and worked can be visited today.
