The temple-like construction was built from 1792 - 1797 as a retreat for Duke Carl August, based on designs by Johann August Arens. On the main floor, visitors can view the vestibule, the Blue Salon and the Duke's study and bedroom. In the basement, there is a permanent exhibition on the history of the Park by the Ilm.
